BOWLING GREEN - For the second straight night at Bowling Green State University's Stroh Center a Putnam County boys basketball team was celebrating a regional championship.
One night after Leipsic celebrated a Division IV regional title, Ottawa-Glandorf was doing the same after the Division III regional championship game.
Ottawa-Glandorf outscored Bloom Carroll in overtime to claim a 60-56 win in the Division III regional title game. The win puts the Titans (24-3) in the Division III state semi-finals for a second straight year where they will play Ironton at 10:45 a.m. Thursday morning.
After the two teams played to a 27-27 tie after the first half, O-G led nearly all of the second half, which included an eight point lead late in the fourth quarter. The Bulldogs (26-2) rallied to take a 48-47 lead before TJ Metzger tied the game with a free throw. Both teams missed a shot in the remaining time forcing overtime.
In overtime, O-G jumped out to a seven point lead and held on for the win.
Noah Bramlage led the Titans with 15 points and nine rebounds. Michael Rosebrock and TJ Metzger both had 13 points and Caleb Siefker added nine points. Matthew "Chewy" Kaufman dished out six assists for the Titans.
Isaac McGlore led the Bulldogs and all scorers with 30 points as he hit six three-pointers. Joey Schmitz nailed four three-pointers as he had 16 points. Jordan Bachman grabbed seven rebounds for the Bulldogs.
