Titans pick up WBL win

VAN WERT - Ottawa-Glandorf pulled away from Van Wert in the second half Thursday night to record a 53-41 Western Buckeye League win.The Titans (1-1, 4-1) had a 25-22 halftime lead on the Cougars before outscoring Van Wert 28-19 in the second half for the win. O-G outscored the Cougars 14-8 in the third quarter and 14-11 in the fourth quarter for the win.
Kristen Miller had 20 points for the Titans and Elissa Ellerbrock added 12 points.
Riley Jones had 11 points for Van Wert.
O-G won the junior varsity game 46-39.
Miller City 34
MILLER CITY - Ottoville began defense of their Putnam County League Thursday night by beating Miller City 69-34.
The Big Green (1-0, 4-2) had a 14-6 lead on the the Wildcats after eight minutes before outscoring Miller City 21-10 in the second quarter for a 35-16 halftime lead.
Lyndsey Wannemacher led three Big Green players in double digits with 14 points and Annie Lindeman had 13 points. Taylor Mangas had 12 points and seven rebounds.
Cassie Niese had 10 points for the Wildcats (0-2, 0-7).
Ottoville won the junior varsity game 33-18.
CONTINENTAL - Holgate held Continental to nine points in the middle two quarters Thursday evening on their way to a 43-31 non-league win.
The Tigers had a 9-7 lead after one quarter before outscoring the Pirates 17-9 in the middle two quarters. Holgate had a 12-6 second quarter scoring run, then posted a 5-3 third quarter scoring margin.
Myles had 15 points for the Tigers and Niese had 10.
Paige Ordway led the Pirates with a game high 16 points. Sloane Zachrich had eight points for Continental.
Columbus Grove 60
Delphos Jefferson 35
DELPHOS - Columbus Grove had a big second quarter on their way to a 60-35 Northwest Conference win over Delphos Jefferson Thursday night.
The Bulldogs are 1-1 in the NWC and 4-3 overall.
Grove had a 12-8 lead after one quarter before outscoring the Wildcats 24-3 in the second quarter for a 36-11 halftime lead.
Sydney McCluer led the Bulldogs with 15 points and Jade Clement had 11 points.
