LEIPSIC - Leipsic claimed at-least a share of the Putnam County League volleyball title Thursday evening with a 25-8, 25-27, 25-20, 25-22 win over Kalida.

The win moves the Vikings to 5-0 in the league and 16-2 overall. Leipsic can claim an outright PCL title Tuesday should they defeat Miller City. Kalida dropped to 3-1 in the league race as they have Columbus Grove and Pandora-Gilboa next week.
After a dominating performance in the first game, the Vikings saw Kalida bounce back to win game two as the Wildcats scored the final two points as a service ace tied the match at 1-1.
The third and fourth sets were tight throughout as the teams traded points.
In the third set Leipsic scored four straight points that had them leading 21-16. The Vikings were up 24-19 before Kalida made one more run pulling within 24-22. A service error gave Leipsic the set at 25-22.
The fourth set was just like the third as the two teams traded points as Kalida was leading 18-17 before the Vikings ran off four straight points to take a 21-18 lead. The Wildcats scored two straight points to come within 21-20 before Leipsic scored the final four points, the final two coming on kills by Amber Gerdeman.
Leipsic won the junior match in two sets.
