Vikings fall to McComb in BVC showdown

LEIPSIC - Leipsic's bid to stay in the hunt for a Blanchard Valley Conference volleyball title was derailed by McComb in four games Wednesday night 25-21, 25-18, 19-25, 25-12.The win moved the Panthers to 8-0 in the conference and 19-0 overall as they can wrap up an undisputed BVC title Monday night against Van Buren. The Vikings are 6-2 in the BVC and 16-2 overall.
Kelly Nadler had 17 kills for the Vikings as she was 43-of-48 hitting with three blocks and 12 digs, while Haley Gerten was 41-of-45 hitting with 14 kills with two blocks and she was 15-of-16 serving with 31 digs. Amber Gerdeman was 17-of-24 hitting with six blocks and 9-of-10 serving. Emily Ellerbrock was 73-of-73 setting with 20 assists and 15-of-15 serving and Rachel Rieman was 44-of-44 setting with 11 assists and 11-of-13 serving.
Shalynn Morman had 29 digs in the contest.
McComb won the junior varsity contest 25-7, 25-20.
ARCADIA - Arcadia survived a third game win by Pandora-Gilboa to record a 25-16, 25-21, 24-26, 25-22 Blanchard Valley Conference win.
Vivian Nofziger had 45 assists as she was 150-of-150 setting and Mikaylie Morman had four aces as she was 20-of-22 serving and had 11 kills on 34-of-36 hitting.
Hunter Hermiller was 14-of-14 serving with nine kills as she was 23-of-27 hitting with 15 digs and Megan Maag had 26 kills as she was 65-of-70 hitting and 12-of-12 serving with 15 digs. Kaitlyn Conine had 33 digs in the match.
