Wildcats fall to T-Birds

MILLER CITY — Lima Central Catholic scored three times in the fifth inning Wednesday to defeat Miller City 6-3 in non-league action.
The Wildcats took a 2-1 lead in the fourth inning on a Jessica Vennekotter home run before the T-Birds bounced back with three runs in the fifth inning.
Meredith Shepherd (2-2) picked up the win for LCC as she went the distance allowing three runs on six hits with eight strikeouts and three walks.
Shepherd had two singles and a double for the T-Birds (3-4) with an RBI and Sydney Santaguida had a single, double and two RBIs. Abby Tabler had a double and RBI for LCC.
Liz Schimmoeller (1-2) took the loss for Miller City as she went the distance allowing six runs on nine hits with nine strikeouts and two walks.
Schimmoeller had a single and triple for the Wildcats (2-3). Alissa Schnipke, Morgan Inkrott and Kylee Ricker all had a single for Miller City.
Hardin Northern 8
DUNKIRK — Hardin Northern pitcher Addy Bame threw a two-hitter Wednesday as the Polar Bears defeated Pandora-Gilboa 8-0 in Blanchard Valley Conference action.
Bame allowed just a pair of singles in recording the win, while striking out 14 Rocket batters.
Hardin Northern scored two runs in the second inning for a lead they wouldn't lose.
Shelby Schlatter had a double, two singles and three RBIs in the game for Hardin Northern (2-0, 3-1). Lea Rowe had two singles, Brooklyn Watts a triple and Michaela Curtis a single and two RBIs. Kamryn Dye had a double and RBI.
Megan Maag took the loss for P-G. Maag and Vivian Nofziger had hits for the Rockets
