lady Bulldogs move to 4-0 in PCL softball

COLUMBUS GROVE — Columbus Grove used a pair of big innings Tuesday to defeat Miller City 21-10 in a battle of Putnam County League unbeatens.
The win moves the Bulldogs to 4-0 in the PCL and 10-7 overall. The Bulldogs are the last unbeaten team in the PCL. Miller City is 3-1 and 8-6.
Columbus Grove scored single runs in the first and second inning before the Wildcats scored three times in the third inning. The Bulldogs responded with 11 runs in the bottom of the third inning. Columbus Grove broke the game open with eight runs in the fourth inning.
Hope Schroeder picked up the win as she allowed 10 runs, one earned, on eight hits with three strikeouts and six walks.
Schroeder had two singles,a home run and four RBIs for the Bulldogs, while Kyrah Yinger had two singles, a triple and two RBIs. Katie Roose had four singles and three RBIs and Monica Delgado had a single, double, triple and three RBIs.
Kylee Ricker (2-2) took the loss for Miller City. Liz Schimmoeller and Megan Warnimont worked in relief.
Schimmoeller had a single, double and four RBIs and Janke van Wezel had a single and three RBIs. Jessica Vennekotter had two singles and an RBI and Tiffany Welty had a single and RBI.
GLANDORF — Ottawa-Glandorf pitcher Megan Kitchen tossed a one hitter Tuesday in the Titans 11-0, five inning, win over Elida Tuesday evening.
Kitchen (11-2) allowed the Bulldogs just a single in recording the win. She had six strikeouts and didn't walk a batter.
O-G broke the game open with five runs in the third inning. Kitchen had a triple and double for the Titans (6-2, 14-3).
PANDORA — Pandora-Gilboa got a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 12th inning Tuesday to post a 3-2 Putnam County League win over Leipsic.
The Rockets tied the game in the bottom of the seventh on an RBI double by Megan Maag. The game stayed 2-2 going to the bottom of the 12th when Jenna Sigler blasted a home run.
Leipsic had taken the lead with two runs in the fourth inning and the Rockets came back with a run in the bottom of the fourth.
Maag had a single to go along with her double and Vivian Nofziger had two singles. Maag picked up the win for P-G (1-2, 3-10).
Jada Lopez took the loss for the Vikings. Haley Gerten had two singles and a double for Leipsic.
MCCOMB — Kalida outscored McComb Tuesday evening 10-9 in non-league action.
The Lady Wildcats scored twice in the top of the seventh for the lead and the Panthers made things interesting with a run in the bottom of the seventh.
Dani Knueve picked up the win for Kalida.
