COLUMBUS GROVE - Six fire departments were called the scene of a house fire early Thursday morning.
5:03 a.m. Thursday, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office received a 911
call from a resident at 7736 Road P claiming their house was on fire.
caller stated there was heavy smoke coming from the upstairs of the
two-story residence. All occupants of the home were able to escape
quickly and safely.
Columbus Grove Fire Department responded
as the primary department. They were provided with mutual aid from
Ottawa, Pandora, Glandorf, Gilboa, and Bluffton Fire Departments. Also
assisting at the scene were Putnam County and Pandora EMS, the Putnam
County Sheriff's Office, American Electric Power and the Putnam County
Chapter of the American Red Cross.
Units were still on the
scene at 7:46 a.m. this morning. The cause is still under investigation.
The total damage estimate has not been determined at this time. There
were no injuries.
