Library board accepts construction bids OTTAWA - Putnam County District Library board members accepted bids last night for the construction of the new library facility to be built in Ottawa.
Representatives from Technicon Design Group, Inc. first read aloud the alternate bids, which the board had to accept before entering into an agreement with the general contractor.
Included in the alternate bids were small structural projects such as spray insulation, an acoustical ceiling, acoustic ceiling tiles, tubular skylights, a motorized projection screen and security systems to name some.
The lowest bidding contractor for the entire project, Westerheide Developers, Inc. from Sidney, was awarded the general contract.
Sub-contractors approved by the board, included the following corporations:
L.R. Babcock, Napoleon, plumbing contract
Al-Temp Refrigeration, Delphos, HVAC contract
Bodie Electric, Fostoria, electrical contract
Shambaugh & Sons, Maumee, fire protection contract.
The total amount of all contracts approved by the board equals roughly $2.2 million.
