MILLER CITY - Kevin McGlaughlin has served the Miller City - New Cleveland schools for 35 years, and recently announced his plans to retire.
The high school and junior high principal will step down on July 1, 2010.
"It's a good feeling to be able to retire, it's been a wonderful employment and I've had the privilege of working with some good people," said McGlaughlin. "I'm lucky that I have been able to work in one district throughout my career, I leave with my health and on good terms."
McGlaughlin took over as the high school and junior high principal 19 years ago. He also worked as a guidance counselor, English and Health teacher, and Physical Education instructor.
The former varsity head boy's basketball coach, from 1977 to 1996, returned to the bench this season for the Wildcats.
"I don't have any plans right now to continue to work in education," according to McGlaughlin. "I am working as an assistant basketball coach with my son, and I would like to continue with it. I have really enjoyed it."
Tyson McGlaughlin is a first-year varsity boy's head basketball coach for Miller City High School.
"He will certainly be missed, he's great," stated Miller City - New Cleveland Superintendent William Kreinbrink. "It will not be the same around here without him."
