Juvenile charged with two counts of murder
OTTAWA - The third teen in the Amber Alert who directed authorities to the bodies of Blake and Blaine Romes has been charged with double homicide, according to a press release from the Putnam County Prosecuting Attorney Office.

The release stated that the Prosecuting Attorney has filed a two count complaint in the Putnam County Juvenile Court against the juvenile alleging delinquency for committing the crime of Aggravated Murder of the Romes brothers.

Additionally, a Motion to Transfer has been filed requesting the Putnam County Juvenile Court transfer jurisdiction of the case to the Putnam County Common Pleas Court so the juvenile can be tried as an adult.

911 call related to teens' death released
OTTAWA -With a pretrial looming for the 17-year-old facing grand theft auto charges in conjunction with the recent deaths of two local teen brothers on May 9, officials are being tight-lipped about their investigation. However, on Wednesday, the Putnam County Sheriff's Department released the 911 call made by the mother of the two deceased teens and detail call sheet.

Records show that upon Michelle Grothause's arrival at her home on May 9 to check on her 14-year-old son, Blaine Romes, she discovered a large amount of blood and a handgun. Missing were Blaine, his brother, Blake Romes, 17, and a third teen who lived in the home, whose name had previously been released but is now being withheld.

O-G Board rehires Brinkman
OTTAWA - The Ottawa-Glandorf Board of Education accepted Superintendent Kevin Brinkman's retirement and subsequently rehired him at Tuesday night's board meeting. With this action the school district will save $26,000 due to reduced salary and benefits.

Rieman Scholarships awarded
PUTNAM COUNTY - Four area high school seniors have been awarded Edward A. and Ettie M. Rieman scholarships for 2013. The awards, of $1,000 each, are presented by the Putnam County Educational Service Center to outstanding graduates of any Putnam County high school. Applicants are judged based on academic, community, athletic, church and civic achievements. Over the past 13 years, 50 Putnam County seniors have been awarded Rieman scholarships.

PRO-TEC unveils expansion
LEIPSIC - PRO-TEC unveiled the expansion to its Leipsic location on Monday. The 415,000-square-foot addition cost $400 million and will employ 80 new full time workers to treat lightweight steel. Announced in late 2010, the investment created 500 temporary construction jobs.

OTTAWA - The Ottawa Kiwanis Club held their annual spring health fair early Saturday morning. On site for the health fair were 35 phlebotomists conducting blood draws to be taken to Medlab's Lima location for testing.

Michael Aaron Fey arraigned on theft charge
OTTAWA - Multiple news sources are reporting that Michael Aaron Fey, 17, was to be charged with grand theft auto.
Columbus police have stated that Fey is scheduled to be transported back to Putnam County and has been assigned a public defender.
According the Columbus Dispatch he waived his appearance before Magistrate William Kirby this morning. No charges were made because he waived the hearing, according to WTOL.
Ottawa-Glandorf Schools will have counseling available throughout the day within the high school and elementary buildings.

Bodies of two missing Ottawa teens found
OTTAWA - The bodies of two of the three teen boys thought to be kidnapped from an Ottawa trailer park Thursday morning were located. Investigators found the bodies after the third teen, who was discovered in Columbus Thursday afternoon after a statewide Amber Alert was issued, told officials their location.

Juvenile in custody informed police location of two slain teens
OTTAWA - At 5:30 p.m. investigators stated the 17 year old male that was in custody after he was located in a missing vehicle in Columbus, gave the location of the bodies of two missing juveniles that authorities were looking for. Multiple agencies assisted to locate the two bodies after they knew where to look.

OTTAWA - The Amber Alert has been officially canceled and one of the three juveniles has been taken into custody in Columbus. The Ottawa Police Department is en route to question the juvenile. At this time two of the three boys are still missing.

Police give update on missing boys
OTTAWA - Local law enforcement agencies gave an update on the three missing Ottawa teenagers this afternoon at the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.
Police told media members that only one of the boys, one of the 17 year olds, has been found at this time. The other two boys remain missing.
The Amber Alert was cancelled earlier this afternoon after the Chevy HHR was found in Columbus.
The Amber Alert was issued for Blake and Blaine Romes and Michael Fey this morning after their mother returned home from work at 5:31 a.m. Thursday and felt she came upon a possible crime scene. Local law enforcement agencies spent the morning and early afternoon at the scene collecting evidence.
Additional details about the incident are not being released by authorities at this time.
