Michael Burgei

FT. JENNINGS - Michael N. Burgei, age 62, died at 4:37 p.m. on Tuesday, July 13, 2010, as the result of an automobile accident on US 6 and Co. Rd. 29 in Elkhart County, New Paris, Ind.

He was born Oct. 10, 1947, in Lima, the son of Orville and Ethel (Miller) Burgei. His parents survive in Delphos. On Nov. 27, 1971, he married Judy Osting, and she survives in Ft. Jennings.

Also surviving are two sons, Wayne Burgei of Lima, and Darrin Burgei of Ft. Jennings; three daughters, Jennifer (Eric) Siebeneck of Kalida, Cheryl (Duane) Simon of Continental, and Tracy (Justin Van Buskirk) Burgei of Greenwich, Ohio; four grandchildren, Jada Siebeneck, Sable Siebeneck, Kennedy Simon and Aubrey Simon; three brothers, Ken (Connie) Burgei of Wauseon, Don (Judy) Burgei of Hilliard, and Larry (Donna) Burgei of Delphos; three sisters, Jane (John) Morman of Ottawa; Judy (Kev) Clark of Delphos, Anne (Dan) Wurst of Ottoville; his mother-in-law, Betty Osting of Delphos; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Becky Haase of Delphos, Danny (Bonnie) Osting of Delphos and Jan (Janet) Osting of Lafayette, Ind; and many nephews, nieces and great-nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Ed Osting; his grandparents, Steve and Mary Miller and Jake and Veronica Burgei; and his godson, Todd Geise.

Mr. Burgei was a production worker at Ford Motor Company, Lima. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ft. Jennings. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran. He was a member of the Cushman Club of Ohio.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, July 17, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ft. Jennings. Fr. Joe Przybysz officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery with military rites by the Ft. Jennings American Legion.

Arrangements were handled by Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Jackson Township.
