Titan softball team falls to Elida GLANDORF - Elida scored three times in the fifth inning Friday to claim a 4-3 Western Buckeye League win from Ottawa-Glandorf.
Elida took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth, only to see the Titans come back with three runs in the bottom of the inning. The Bulldogs took the lead for good with three runs in the top of the fifth.
Jamie Hollar picked up the win for Elida as she allowed three runs on four hits with eight strikeouts. Kylie Prince had three singles for the Bulldogs.
Tabbie Tousley (3-6) took the loss for O-G as she allowed four runs on five hits with six strikeouts and two walks. Ashley Hempfling had a triple for the Titans, while Tresa Escamilla, Brittany Zynda and Amy Maag all had singles.
On Thursday, Shawnee erupted late in their game with Ottawa-Glandorf to record an 11-1 Western Buckeye League win.
The Indians had a 3-0 lead before the Titans scored in the top of the fifth. Shawnee then responded with four runs in the bottom of the fifth and three more in the sixth to end the game early.
Chelsea Lingenfelter picked up the win for Shawnee as she struck out 12 and allowed just two hits.
Lingenfelter also doubled twice for the Indians. Sam Robison had three doubles in the game and Lauren Miller had a double. Brooke Schultz had a triple for Shawnee.
