PUTNAM COUNTY — Though officially recognized on Sunday, Nov. 11, Veterans Day this year will be observed on Monday, Nov. 12. The following is a list of some of the observances to be held in Putnam County:

• The Leipsic School District will hold their annual Veterans Day Assembly at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 11. Please contact the high school office to reserve a spot: (419) 943-2165

• Miller City High School will hold a Veterans Day Program on Friday, Nov. 9. The event will begin at 9:30 a.m., with doors opening at 9 a.m. The public is invited to attend.

• Ottoville High School will hold a Veterans Day program on Friday, Nov. 9, at 10:15 a.m. in the school gymnasium.

• Fort Jennings High School will hold Veterans Appreciation Day on Friday, Nov. 9, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Veterans and their spouses are invited to attend.

• Ottawa-Glandorf High School will have a Veterans Day assembly on Friday, Nov. 9, at 10:15 a.m. Veterans and the public are welcome to attend.

• Ottawa Elementary will hold a Veterans Day program on Friday, Nov. 9, at 1 p.m. Veterans and the public are welcome to attend. Veterans are invited to share pie with the students after the program.

• Kerner-Slusser American Legion Post 63/American Legion Auxiliary will sponsor a Veterans Day dinner at the Ottawa American Legion Hall, 218 West Main Street, on Monday, Nov. 12. A social time will begin at 6 p.m., followed by a catered meal at 6:30 p.m. Reservations may be made and tickets purchased through the post club room from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. through Thursday, Nov. 8. Veterans ticket costs will be refunded at the door.

• A Veterans Breakfast will be held on Friday, Nov. 16, at the Meadows of Ottawa, beginning at 9 a.m. Interested parties should contact (419) 523-4478.
