GLANDORF — A marrow donor registration drive for ages 18-44 will take place this Sunday, Sept. 8 at St. John The Baptist Parish Center, 109 N. Main St., Glandorf.

The drive will support six year-old local resident, Luke, and those like him. Luke was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic Leukemia days before his third birthday. After three years of chemotherapy, he achieved remission. Then, after just six short weeks, Luke relapsed, and has now begun his battle again.

Raised in Glandorf, Luke is a fun loving six years old boy who’s fallen in love with everything outdoors, sports, and his entire family, which includes five siblings.

For this new fight, Luke will need a bone marrow transplant. Unfortunately, none of his siblings, and no one currently on the “Be The Match” registry is a match for Luke.

Every day with Luke feels like a miracle. Please join the Be The Match Registry to help Luke and others like him receive their chance to live their life and achieve their full potential free from cancer.

Those who would like to register, but are unable to attend this Sunday, may still do so. Register using your cell phone by texting “HelpLuke” to 61474. You can also register by visiting: HelpLuke and providing your information online. You will receive a swab kit to see if you are a match.
