OTTAWA — Greta Liebrecht, a fifth-grader at Sts. Peter and Paul School, presented the Village of Ottawa with a special gift: an enlarged flag representation of a poster she created as part of an Arbor Day contest in 2018. Her original hand-drawn poster was turned into a flag to be hung in village council chambers in recognition of the importance of trees to the lives of village residents.

Ottawa’s Shade Tree Commission, including Mayor Dean Meyer, Municipal Director Jack Williams, Secretary Lori Moenter, Council Liaison Jo Deskins, President Stan Beckman, and members Bob Fawcett and Lynne Hirzel were in attendance to support Greta’s artistry and show their appreciation for her creativity and support of Arbor Day. Greta is the daughter of Greg and Chris Liebrecht.
