PUTNAM COUNTY — The Putnam County Council on Aging will celebrate Older American’s Month by hosting a Senior Citizens Day Celebration at the Kalida K of C on Tuesday, May 7, from 12 to 2 p.m.

This event is open to all Putnam County senior citizens. The cost to attend is $7 which includes lunch, door prizes, and entertainment by the Ottawa-Glandorf High School Show Choir.

For 56 years, Older Americans Month has been observed to recognize older adults and the contributions they make to their communities. It has been a time to appreciate and celebrate their vitality and aspirations. The 2019 theme for Older Americans Month is, “Create, Connect, Contribute,” which encourages older adults to:

  • connect with friends, family and local services and resources;
  • create through activities that promote learning, health and personal enrichment, and;
  • contribute time, talent and life experience to benefit others.

Please join the Council on Aging by inviting your friends, family and neighbors to come celebrate Senior Citizens Day. If you need transportation to this event, please call the Council on Aging in advance at: 419-523-4121, or toll-free 1-877-796-1760.
