  • Traffic/Aug. 1: Michael L. Young, 42, Ottawa, pleaded guilty to OVI, sentenced to 180 days jail, 90 days suspended, fined $750, $250 suspended, three-year license suspension, six points, with credit for six days jail upon completion of DIP and complete alcohol and drug assessment.
  • Aug. 5: Andrew J. Watkins, IV, 32, Lima, was granted judicial release. He was placed on five years community control, must obtain and maintain employment, complete all counseling and treatment recommended and pay restitution of $700 to the Northwest Ohio MAN unit.
  • Accidents: On Aug. 6 at 3:59 p.m., Raymond Swan, 59, Minneola, Missouri, was westbound on Broad Street, Kalida, when he overshot his right turn onto Road M-17, and struck an old telephone box on the northwest corner of the intersection.
  • Civil/July 25: Roderick T. Wright, Cloverdale, $2,506.22, plus interest and court costs of $95 to Discover Bank, New Albany.
  • An 18-year-old Ottawa man was indicted by the Putnam County Grand Jury following a report of a series of armed robberies in Leipsic during the early hours of July 27.
  • Incidents: An unruly juvenile was reported on July 30 in the 12000 block of Old State Route 65, Ottawa Township.
  • Michael G. Dunbar, 57, Ottoville, pleaded guilty to failure to reinstate license and was fined $150.
  • Cory A. Dodds, 32, Fort Jennings, pleaded guilty to burglary. He faces up to 36 months in prison and $10,000 in fines. Bond was continued while a pre-sentence investigation is conducted with sentencing set for 12:30 p.m. Aug. 19.
  • On July 24 at 9:55 a.m., Barry Rosebrock, 57, Ottawa, was northbound on State Route 15, Monroe Township, when a deer entered the roadway and struck the passenger side of his vehicle.
  • John E. Swickrath, 56, Columbus Grove, pleaded no contest to domestic violence, sentenced to 180 days jail, 179 days suspended, fined $500 and complete mental health counseling.
  • Kandie A. King, 24, Toledo, was sentenced to 52 days in jail for possession of a controlled substance.
  • On July 18 at 4:24 a.m., Jordan McVicker, 29, Gilboa, was southbound on Road 3, Blanchard Township, when he struck a deer attempting to cross the roadway.
  • Antoine D. Allen, 37, Defiance, pleaded no contest to drug abuse/possession and was fined $150 and given a six-month license suspension.
  • Rachel R. Bohrer, Fort Jennings, was granted a divorce from Jesse J. Bohrer, Ottawa. They were married Oct. 5, 2013 and have one child.
  • Suicide/threats were reported on July 9 in the 100 block of Lakeland Drive, Continental.
