Josalyna L. Baney, 36, Leipsic, was referred to the WORTH Center to trespass in habitation. She was placed on five years community control, must obtain and maintain employment and complete all counseling and treatment recommended.

Scott J. Wilson, 58, Ottawa, was sentenced to 48 months in prison for violating the terms of supervision. The violations include violating a CPO in Michigan in July 2018, consuming alcohol and leaving the state without permission. He was given credit for 123 day served.

Aug. 16

Kristy F. Vermilyen, 33, Ottawa, pleaded guilty to possession of drugs (cocaine). She faces up to 12 months in prison and $2,500 in fines. Bond was continued while a pre-sentence investigation is conducted with sentencing set for 2:30 p.m. Sept. 16.

Aug. 19

Joseph A. Garcia, 39, Leipsic, charged with rape and unlawful conduct with a minor, has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. The judge ordered the prosecutor’s office to provide all documentation including all police reports, statements and discovery to the court and to the court diagnostic and treatment center in Toledo within 10 days.

Aug. 20

Cory A. Dodds, 32, Fort Jennings, was sentenced to 24 months in prison for burglary. He was given credit for 89 days served and any days prior to his transportation to the ODRC. He must pay $500 restitution.

Daniel J. Acosta, 23, Defiance, was referred to the WORTH Center for attempted burglary. He was placed on five years’ community control. He must obtain and maintain employment and successfully complete all counseling and treatment recommended.

Zechariah G. Hudson, 35, Forest, was sentenced to 180 day for assault. The judge suspended 177 days and gave him credit for three days served. He was also fined $1,000 which was suspended provided he comply with all rules of probation, obtain and maintain employment and successfully complete all treatment and counseling recommended.

Adan Vasquez, 33, Ottawa, was sentenced to 30 days jail for improper handling of firearm in a motor vehicle. He was also sentenced to 180 days jail, with 177 days suspended, for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs. He was fined $1,000 with $625 suspended and given a one-year license suspension. He must obtain and maintain employment and successfully complete all counseling and treatment recommended. Charges of receiving stolen property, possession of drug paraphernalia and open container were dismissed.

Aug. 22

Justin D. Patrick, 35, Leipsic, was remanded to the WORTH Center for aggravated possession of drugs (methamphetamine) and possession of heroin. He was also convicted of attempted conveyance of drugs onto grounds of a detention facility. He was placed on five years community control and ordered to obtain and maintain employment and complete all counseling and treatment recommended. A charge of aggravated possession of drugs (methamphetamine) was dismissed. According to court records, Patrick brought suboxone and methamphetamines into the Putnam County Jail on Feb. 4.
