Robert L. Howard, III, 36, Ottawa, was granted judicial release and was ordered to be released from jail immediately. He was convicted of two counts trafficking in drugs.

Oct. 22

Shawn M. Heiing, Fort Jennings, and Douglas R. Heiing, Fort Jennings, were granted a dissolution of marriage. They were married in Putnam County and have two children.

Oct. 24

Zachariah R. Casteel, 20, Leipsic, was sentenced to 36 months in prison for sexual battery. He was granted credit for 11 days served and was placed on five years community control. He must register as a Tier Three offender.

Casteel was charged with raping a 15- or 16-year-old girl in Putnam County earlier this year. The indictment states that on or about April 6 of this year Casteel “did engage in sexual conduct with another when the offender purposely compels the other person to submit by force or threat of force.”

Malachi J. Trejo, 18, Ottawa, was sentenced to 91 days jail for violating the terms and conditions of his intervention in lieu of conviction. He was given credit for 12 days served and placed on five years community control. He must obtain and maintain employment, and complete all treatment and counseling recommended. He was originally convicted of misuse of credit cards.

Judd C. Spencer, 48, Holgate, pleaded guilty to domestic violence and using weapons while intoxicated, both misdemeanors. He faces up to 210 days in jail and $1,250 in fines. Bond was continued while a pre-sentence investigation is conducted with sentencing set for 10 a.m. Nov. 28. Spencer was the Mayor of Cloverdale when he was charged with domestic violence after an alleged incident between him and his wife Nichole Spencer on May 7, 2018 in their home in Cloverdale. A charge of carrying a concealed weapon was dismissed.

David J. Roeger, 57, Ottawa, pleaded guilty to attempted abduction. He faces up to 18 months in prison and $5,000 in fines. Bond was continued while a pre-sentence investigation is conducted with sentencing set for 9 a.m. Dec. 12.

Oct. 25

Jessi N. Tapia, Columbus Grove, and Travis T. Tapia, Columbus Grove, were granted a dissolution of marriage. They were married June 27, 2015 in Columbus Grove, and have one child.

Michael Reynolds, Ottawa, was granted a divorce from Charity Reynolds, Columbus Grove. They were married May 22, 2015 in Putnam County and have two children.

Cassie L. Taber, Pandora, was granted a divorce from Jared M. Taber, Harrod. They were married July 16, 2016 and have two children
