Jordan M. Nieto, 22, Leipsic, was sentenced to 24 months in prison for complicity (failure to comply) and six months in prison for theft. He was also sentenced to 12 months in prison for improper handling of firearm in a motor vehicle. The sentence was ordered to be served concurrent and he was given credit for 101 days served. A charge of burglary was dismissed.

Nieto was arrested along with Thomas D. Miles, 19, Jenera, and Mike Pardo III, 22, Leipsic, after robbing a Leipsic restaurant last May. According to a Leipsic Police Department, a subject entered the Mi Familia Restaurant, 131 E. Main St., Leipsic, at approximately 7:30 p.m. May 21. The subject removed the cash drawer from the cash register and was chased by the manager. The subject was able to drive away and Leipsic Police Officer Scott Harshman intercepted the car on Road 5. The trio sped away, leading law enforcement in a pursuit exceeding 100 miles per hour. The pursuit ended when, jostled by repeated bumps, the airbags in the suspects’ vehicle deployed and the car crashed in a field in Henry County. Harshman and personnel from the Putnam and Henry county sheriff offices took the three men into custody and transported them to the Putnam County Jail.

Miles was convicted and remanded to the WORTH Center for failure to comply. Pardo, charged with two counts complicity, has a change of plea hearing set for Sept. 30.

Danny LV Ruiz, 44, Leipsic, pleaded no contest to receiving stolen property. He faces up to 18 months in prison and $5,000 in fines. Bond was continued while a pre-sentence investigation is conducted with sentencing set for 8:30 a.m. Oct. 3. A charge of domestic violence was dismissed.
