KALIDA — The Kalida Lions and Kalida Firefighters have announced the theme for the upcoming Pioneer Days parade to be held the Sunday after Labor Day.
Every year, local Kalida students are asked their suggestions for the parade theme. Kamden Warnecke, son of Holly and Brent Warnecke, submitted the winning theme this year: Never Forget those who Served, Died and those that Carry On. With this being the 20th anniversary of 9-11, this parade theme is certainly appropriate.
The Pioneer Days Committee would like to invite all Putnam County businesses and organizations to be represented in the Pioneer Days parade on Sunday, Sept. 12th, 2021. Pioneer Days, now in its 149th year, is jointly sponsored by the Kalida Lions and Kalida Fireman. The dates for this year’s festival are Sept.9th-12th. The festival is held in downtown Kalida on the square and surrounding streets.
