Staff report

OTTAWA — For first responders, interactions with the public are typically tense, a consequence of misadventure in any of a variety of ways. Last Thursdays interactions, at least in part, weren’t typical.

Through Touch A Truck, county emergency personnel offered a different kind of interplay, an opportunity to share time and inspect the vehicles and equipment used daily to save lives and help protect and keep safe the public.

Held in association with Thursdays at the Rex, the event was held in the Village of Ottawa’s municipal parking lot. There, vehicles and personnel from the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, Ottawa Police and Fire Departments, and the Putnam County EMA and EMS were on display and address questions.
