STEUBENVILLE - The Fort Jennings Envirothon team recently competed at the State Envirothon competition at Franciscan University of Steubanville. One hundred students from 20 different high schools, representing every part of the state, competed on June 10 and 11. The annual event is an outdoor competition that tests students' knowledge of soil, forestry, wildlife, aquatic ecology, and current environmental issues. This year's theme was Technology in Agriculture, and its relationship to sustainability.

The first team from Fort Jennings placed sixth, while the second team finished eleventh out of the top 20 teams at the state competition. This is the 22nd straight year a Fort Jennings team has advanced to state competition.
