OTTOVILLE — Ottoville Local Schools Board of Education addressed a short agenda during its April meeting.

Superintendent Scott Mangas reported 57 staff are now certified in CPR, AED and Stop the Bleed. Certifications were renewed during a staff in-service day. The remainder of the day was spent touring Vantage Career Center.

Mangas also reported the K-4 Spring Concert will be held at 7 p.m. on May 8.

In John Thornahn’s High School Report, he announced the Cancer Walk will be held on May 10 and Honors Night will be May 14.
Supplemental contracts were approved for the upcoming school year.

One-year-limited teacher supplemental contracts were awarded to: Kimberly Birt, assistant band director and band flag corp; Cory Boecker, technical theatre director; James Brown, golf coach; Keith Utendorf, volunteer golf coach; James Brown, Scholastic Bowl; Anthony Castronova, 10th grade advisor; Sheryl Edelbrock, band flag corp; Alicia Nussbaum, junior high science fair advisor and co-junior class advisor; Pamela Hickey, FCCLA advisor; Kimberly Hovest, LPDC coordinator; Susan Jones, co-junior class advisor; Shawn Knodell, co-assistant boys basketball coach; Ashley Koenig, (20 days) summer band and Pep Band director; Kyle Kumfer, newsletter coordinator and yearbook advisor; Shelley Mumaw, Student Council advisor; Mark Odenweller, athletic director and ninth-grade class advisor; Susan Jones, National Honor Soceity advisor and co-senior class advisor; Jeanne Wehri, high school Science Fair advisor; and Keith Utendorf, head boys basketball coach.

Non-teaching one-year-limited supplemental contracts were issued to: Douglas German, girls head soccer coach; Keith Schimmoeller, girls assistant soccer coach; Emmitt German, volunteer girls soccer; Eric Wannemacher, volunteer girls soccer; Dustin Markward, boys head soccer coach; Travis Eickholt, boys assistant soccer coach; Matt Burgei, volunteer boys soccer; Robert Kaple, head cross country coach; Matt Eickholt, volunteer cross country coach; Shanda Martz, head cheerleader advisor; Saundra Modica, assistant cheerleader advisor; Duane Schroeder, pre-school bus driver; Duane Schroeder, special education bus driver; Ruth Wannemacher, co-senior class advisor; Kelsey Wolfe, head volleyball coach; Melany Honigford, junior varsity volleyball coach; Annie Lindeman, junior high volleyball coach; Judith Looser, assistant EMIS; Julie Selhorst, EMIS coordinator; Michelle Leach, varsity girls basketball coach; Patrick Miller, co-assistant boys basketball coach; James Hoersten, co-assistant boys basketball coach; Craig Brinkman, junior high basketball coach; Terry Byrne, junior high basketball coach; Jason Wehri, junior varsity boys basketball; and Austin Honigford, volunteer junior high boys basketball.

The following donations were accepted: $75 from The Delphos Herald for the girls basketball program; $464.40 from Van Wert High School for the girls basketball districts; and $649.06 from Chase Bank from the Chase Rewards Program.

In other business, the board:

  • approved Small World Pre-School to have their graduation in the high school auditeria on May 16;
  • congratulated Warren Bowery and all the students who participated in the very successful musical presentation of The Adams Family on April 12 and 13.

The next regular meeting of the Ottoville Board of Education is scheduled for Wednesday, May 15, at 7:30 p.m. in Room 101
