Cleopha V. Gambrel - Putnam Sentinel

COLUMBUS — Cleopha “Cleo” Veronica Gambrel passed away on October 31, 2018 in Columbus, Ohio. She was born September 2, 1924 to Henry and Anna (Haselman) Wyant in Leipsic, Ohio. She married Forrest Rex Gambrel on January 16th, 1954 and moved to Hicksville, Ohio in 1962. Retired in 1985 from Dana Corp., Antwerp, Ohio. She and Rex moved to Worthington Christian Village, Columbus, OH in 2010. Cleo was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Hicksville, Ohio, a former Auxiliary member of Hicksville’s F.O.E, and the Antwerp, Ohio VFW 5087.

Survived by a daughter, Pamela (Brad) Halley, Powell, Ohio and two sons, David (Jeannine) Gambrel, Lakewood, NY and James (Suzette) Gambrel, Fort Mill, SC., nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a sister, Imogene (Wyant) Kahle, Kalida, OH; a brother Junior George (Evelyn) Wyant , Columbus Grove, OH, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband Rex; four sisters and four brothers; and a grandson Zachary Halley.

Services to be held Saturday, November 3, 2018 11 a.m. in the Rutherford Funeral Home at Powell, OH. Visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be held in Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville, Ohio, at a later date.
