BLUFFTON — Bluffton grabbed an early lead Thursday and added to it Friday to defeat Leipsic 7-1 in a Division IV sectional final contest.

This contest took two days to play as it was suspended in the bottom of the third inning Thursday by heavy rains and resumed on Friday.

Bluffton had a 1-0 lead when the game was suspended Thursday, then quickly added two runs in the third inning Friday. After both teams scored in the fourth inning, the Pirates put the game away with a three runs fifth inning.

Libby Schaddt (18-1) picked up the win as she allowed a run on three hits with nine strikeouts and four walks.

Katie Prater had two hits and three RBIs for the Pirates (20-1), while Madison Fleece was 3 for 3 with two runs scored. Avery Rumer had two hits and scored two runs.

Jocelyn Hermiller took the loss for the Vikings (8-14) as she allowed seven runs, one earned, on 11 hits with two strikeouts and three walks.

Hannah Mortimer, Maddie Walther and Hermiller all had a hit for the Vikings.

Ottawa-Glandorf 11

Kenton 10

KENTON — Ottawa-Glandorf rallied in the top of the seventh inning to defeat Kenton 11-10 in Western Buckeye League softball action Friday evening.

The Titans trailed 10-8 going to the top of the seventh after Kenton scored four times in the bottom of the sixth. O-G rallied in their final at-bat to score three times for the win. The sixth inning was the only inning O-G did score at least one run in during the game.

Katelyn Yoder (5-8) picked up the win as she went the distance allowing 10 runs, nine earned, on 10 hits with two strikeouts and six walks.

Yoder had two singles and a double at the plate with an RBI and Taylor Kuhlman had two singles and an RBI. Anika Schrieber had three hits and scored two runs for O-G (4-5, 5-12).

Columbus Grove 17

Delphos Jefferson 7

COLUMBUS GROVE — Columbus Grove recorded a five inning Northwest Conference win Friday as they defeated Delphos Jefferson 17-7.

The game was a completion of a game started earlier in the season, but suspended due to rain.

Columbus Grove ended the game in the fifth inning when they scored four times.

Emily Watt picked up the win for the Bulldogs (3-5, 8-10).

Joy Stechschulte had a home run for Columbus Grove, while Kam Utendorf, Cheyenne Mershman and Emma Renner all had a double. Danielle Bame and Autumn Renner both had three hits in the game.

Ally Lindeman took the loss for the Wildcats.
