OTTAWA — Columbus Grove closed the third quarter strong as the Bulldogs pulled away from Miller City for a 57-38 win in the Division IV district semi-finals at Ottawa-Glandorf Thursday.

The win sends the Bulldogs to the Division IV district finals at Ottawa-Glandorf Saturday night against Arlington. The Bulldogs defeated the Red Devils just three weeks ago in their regular season matchup. The Red Devils advanced with a 55-37 win over Bluffton in the other district semi-final matchup at O-G.

Columbus Grove had a 30-23 halftime lead and were up 33-32 in the third quarter before closing the quarter on a 12-0 run for a 45-32 lead. The Bulldogs finished the game with a 12-6 scoring advantage.

Angel Schneider led three Bulldog players in double digits with 12 points and she grabbed seven rebounds. Rylee Sybert added 11 points and Amy Vorst had 10 points.

Natalie Koenig paced the Wildcats with 16 points and Adrienne Kuhlman added nine points on three three-pointers. Abi Lammers scored eight points and grabbed 11 rebounds for Miller City.

Kalida 24

VAN WERT — Wayne Trace turned in a good defensive effort Thursday night to defeat Kalida 35-24 in a Division IV district semi-final match at Van Wert High School.

With the win, the Raiders advance to a Division IV district final Saturday night, at 7 p.m., against Ottoville. The Big Green advanced with a win over Delphos St. John's in the first district semi-final game. The Big Green defeated the Raiders back in December.

Wayne Trace held the Ladycats to 29 percent shooting as they were 9-of-31 from the field and 0-of-7 on three-pointers. The Raiders also forced 24 Kalida turnovers. Wayne Trace hit 12-of-37 field goal attempts in the game and turned the ball over just 10 times in the game.

The Raiders had a 9-4 lead after one quarter and were up 18-13 at halftime. Wayne Trace outscored Kalida 17-11 in the second half for the win.

Claire Sinn had 15 points for the Raiders in the win and Kaylee Shepherd added 11 points.

Abby Wurth had a double-double for Kalida with 10 points and 15 rebounds. Grace Klausing had six points and grabbed five rebounds.
