TOLEDO — Columbus Grove used a big offensive day and a no hitter to sweep Maumee Valley Country Day in a non-league doubleheader.

The Bulldogs won the first game 26-2 and the second game 13-6.

In the opener, the Bulldogs' Brady Hauenstein fired a five inning no-hitter for the win. He struck out eight and allowed only a first inning run.

Meanwhile the Grove offense was ready from the first pitch as they scored eight times in the first inning and 10 times in the second inning.

Hauenstein went 2 for 2 in the game with a three run home run.

In the second game, the Bulldogs scored nine times in the seventh inning to complete the sweep. Columbus Grove had a 4-3 lead going to the seventh inning before the big inning.

Kurt Griffith picked up the win as he went the distance. Dane Schroeder went four for four at the plate.

Ottoville 10

Crestview 4

OTTOVILLE - Ottoville used a pair of four run innings Saturday to defeat Crestview 10-4 in non-league action.

The Big Green broke a 2-2 tie with a four run fourth inning, then scored four times in the sixth after the Knights scored twice in the top of the sixth.

Trae Schlagbaum picked up the win in relief as he went 5 1/3 innings.

Dylan Kemper hit a home run and had three RBIs in the game. Josh Thorbahn had a hit and two RBIs and Schlagbaum a single and two doubles.

McComb 1

Kalida 0

MCCOMB - McComb's Tanner Schroeder worked around five walks Saturday as he pitched the Panthers to a 1-0 non-league win over Kalida.

This was the Wildcats first loss of the season.

Schroeder went the distance giving up just two hits with striking out 10 batters and walking five.

The lone run of the game was scored in the second inning on a bases loaded hit batter.

Josh Recker took the loss for Kalida as he allowed a run on three hits with nine strikeouts and a walk. Owen Recker had a double in the game.

Continental 8

Antwerp 4

CONTINENTAL - Continental used a good start to defeat Antwerp 8-4 in non-league action.

The Pirates scored three runs in each of the first and second innings. The Archers scored three runs in the sixth only to see the Pirates come back with two runs in the bottom of the inning.

Nick States (2-3) picked up the win for the Pirates (2-7). States had two hits and drove in two runs for Kalida and Brady Dockery had a hit, scored three runs and had two stolen bases.

Wauseon 15

Ottawa-Glandorf 11

WAUSEON - Wauseon used a big fifth inning Saturday to rally for a 15-11 non-league win over Ottawa-Glandorf.

The Titans had an 11-6 lead after scoring twice in the top of the fifth before the Indians scored nine times in the bottom of the inning for the win.

Jacob Balbaugh took the loss for O-G as he went two-thirds of an inning allowing nine runs, eight earned, on three hits with five walks.

Logan Miller had two singles and two doubles for the Titans with five RBIs. Ethan Alt added a double and triple with two RBIs.
