OTTAWA — Owen Hiegel picked his spots Friday night.

And by the time the senior guard was done, Hiegel had a career night in leading the Titans past Lima Shawnee 64-51 in a Western Buckeye League showdown at the Robert J. Hermiller Gymnasium.

O-G moves to 5-0 in the league and 10-2 overall, while Shawnee dropped to 4-1 in the league and 13-2 overall.

Hiegel scored a career high 36 points for the Titans in the win, which included a pair of three-point goals and 12 made free throws. Hiegel scored at least five points in every quarter, including 15 of his teams 19 points in the fourth quarter as the Indians attempted to rally.

Playing before a sold out gymnasium, the Titans had an 18-10 lead after the first quarter as Hiegel dropped in nine first quarter points. O-G pushed their lead to 30-18 at halftime with a 12-8 second quarter scoring advantage. O-G had a 14 point lead in the second quarter after a Carter Heringhaus three-pointer before George Mangas finished the first half scoring with a basket for Shawnee.

Shawnee outscored the Titans 16-15 in the third quarter as O-G took a 45-34 lead to the final quarter. In the final quarter, O-G outscored the Indians 19-17. The closest the Indians could get to the Titans was eight points in the final quarter as O-G was able to answer all challenges by the scrappy Indians.

Heringhaus and Ben Westrick both had seven points for the Titans. Westrick and Ethan White both grabbed 11 rebounds in the win.

Mangas led the Indians with 16 points. Johnny Caprella and Sheridan O'Neal both finished with nine points.

Ottawa-Glandorf won the junior varsity game 69-53.
