KALIDA — Kalida used a five run second inning to back the solid pitching of Owen Recker in a 9-0 Putnam County League win over Ottoville Tuesday night.

With the game scoreless going to the bottom of the second the Wildcats erupted for five runs and the lead.

Owen Recker (3-0) picked up the win for Kalida as he tossed a two hit shutout recording 16 strikeouts and he walked three batters.

Trevor Lambert went 4 for 4 at the plate and Tyler Klausing was 2 for 2 with three RBIs. Luke Erhart and Gabe Hovest both had a hit and an RBI.

Josh Thorbahn took the loss for Ottoville as he worked four innings allowing five runs, three earned, with six hits, eight strikeouts and four walks.

Jack Langhals and Trae Schlagbaum had the Ottoville (1-1, 1-5) hits.

FORT JENNINGS — Chase Kuhlman did a little bit of everything Tuesday afternoon in a 10-2 Putnam County League win over Fort Jennings.

Kuhlman recorded the win on the mound as he allowed two runs, one earned, on six hits with eight strikeouts and a walk. At the plate, Kuhlman had two singles, a double and drove in five runs.

Miller City took the lead with two runs in the first inning, then added two runs in each of the third and fourth innings to take control of the game. Fort Jennings scored single runs in the fourth and seventh innings.

Eli Ellerbrock had a single and home run as he drove in two runs and Tyler Long had three singles. Nick Gable had a pair of hits in the win.

Derek Luersman (1-4) took the loss for teh Musketeers as he worked four innings allowing six runs, three earned, on seven hits with two strikeouts.

Thomas Calvelage had a double and an RBI and Aaron Kloeppel an RBI single. Kyle Norbeck finished with two hits in the game.

Columbus Grove 13

Pandora-Gilboa 1

PANDORA — Columbus Grove overcame an early deficit Tuesday to defeat Route 12 rival Pandora-Gilboa 13-1 in Putnam County League action.

The Bulldogs trailed 1-0 after one inning before they scored twice in the second inning, three times in the third and six times in the fourth inning off Rocket pitching.

Kurt Griffith picked up the win for Columbus Grove (2-0, 4-2) as he went the distance allowing an unearned run on five hits with five strikeouts.

Brady Hauenstein had two singles, a double and drove in four runs and Owen Macke had a double and three RBIs. Alex Schneider had a pair of doubles for the Bulldogs and Brady Rudasil had a single, double and an RBI.

Brennen Morman took the loss for the Rockets as he gave up 11 runs, nine earned, on nine hits.

Morman had one of the three P-G hits in the game.

Leipsic 20

Continental 7

CONTINENTAL — Leipsic used a big sixth inning Tuesday night to defeat Continental 20-7 in Putnam County League action.

The Vikings had a 9-6 lead after five innings before they scored 11 times in the sixth inning.

Dylan Schroeder picked up the win for Leipsic (1-1, 6-3) plus had three doubles and two RBIs. Tyler Hiegel had a double, three singles and an RBI, while Cole Rieman had three singles and Mitchell Lammers two singles.

Nick States took the loss for the Pirates (0-2, 1-5). Brady Dockery had a single and triple for Continental.

St. Marys 3

Ottawa-Glandorf 2

ST. MARYS — Ottawa-Glandorf's seventh inning rally came up short Tuesday as the Titans fell to St. Marys 3-2 in Western Buckeye League action.

The Titans trailed 3-1 going to the top of the seventh before they scored a run and went on to load the bases. A flyball to right field ended the game.

The Roughriders scored in the first inning and after O-G tied the game in the fourth, St. Marys came right back with two runs.

Jacob Balbaught took the loss for O-G as he went five innings allowing three runs on seven hits with two strikeouts and four walks. Jarett Johns pitched a scoreless sixth inning.

Balbaugh had a double and an RBI in the game. Cory Warnecke had a single and plated a run.
