AYERSVILLE — Leipsic overcame a slow start Thursday evening to defeat Putnam County league rival Continental 40-31 in the first semi-final game of the Ayersville Holiday Tournament.

The win sends the Vikings (7-1) to the championship game Friday night. The Pirates will play in the consolation game starting at 6 p.m.

Continental got off to a good start as they had a 10-4 lead after the first quarter and were up 13-12 at halftime. Leipsic took the lead the lead in the third quarter as they outscored the Pirates 17-8.

Claire Rigel paced the Vikings with 17 points, 11 rebounds and three steals, while Peyton Henry added 12 points and six rebounds. Liz Scheckelhoff had nine points and grabbed a team high 12 rebounds.

Addyson Armey paced the Pirates with 16 points. Kerri Prowant pulled in seven rebounds for Continental and Catelyn Etter grabbed six rebounds.

Ottoville 61

Arlington 58

OTTOVILLE — Ottoville put together a fourth quarter rally Thursday night to defeat Arlington 61-58 in non-league action.

The Red Devils took a 46-38 lead to final quarter before the Big Green put things together to outscore them 23-12 to rally for the win. Kasey Knippen had eight points for the Big Green in the quarter and Nicole Knippen added seven points. Haley Hoersten chipped in five points.

Ottoville had an 11-9 lead after the first quarter, but saw Arlington grabbed a 23-22 halftime lead. The Red Devils outscored the Big Green 23-16 in the third quarter to take an eight point lead to the final quarter.

Kasey Knippen led the Big Green with 20 points and Nicole Knippen had seven points. Brynlee Hanneman and Haley Hoersten both had nine points for Ottoville.

Arlington won the junior varsity game 25-15.

Ottawa-Glandorf 43

Columbus Grove 37

COLUMBUS GROVE — Ottawa-Glandorf used good defense in the middle two quarters Thursday evening to defeat Columbus Grove 43-37 in non-league action.

The Titans had a 12-8 lead after the first quarter before outscoring grove 14-5 in both the second and third quarters for a 40-18 lead going to teh final quarter. In the final quarter, the Bulldogs made things interesting with a 19-3 scoring edge.

Erin Kaufman paced the Titans (9-0) with 11 points and Kasey Ellerbrock added nine points.

Rylee Sybert paced the Bulldogs (8-2) with 12 points and Angel Schneider had 11 points and six rebounds. Abby Gladwell had five steals for the Bulldogs.

Columbus Grove won the junior varsity game 32-27.

North Baltimore 67

Miller City 50

NORTH BALTIMORE — North Baltimore grabbed an early lead Thursday night to defeat Miller City 67-50 in non-league action.

The Tigers took control of the game early outscoring the Wildcats 20-8 in the first quarter.

Alivia Light had a big night for the Tigers with a game high 31 points as she hit four three-pointers and made nine free throws. Grace Hagemeyer added 12 points and Mia McCartney finished with 11 points.

Natalie Koenig had a double-double for the Wildcats (6-4) with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Adrienne Kuhlman had 12 points, five assists and three steals and Abby Niese added 10 points.

Miller City won the two quarter junior varsity game 20-15.
