BLUFFTON — Arlington had an offensive explosion in the fourth quarter Friday night to defeat Miller City 81-75 in the first semi-final of Bluffton McDonald's Holiday Tournament.

The loss puts Miller City in the consolation game Saturday against Cory-Rawson at 6 p.m. at Bluffton High School. The Hornets fell to the host Pirates 42-34 in the second game Friday night.

Miller City took a 46-44 lead to the final quarter after Mitch Gable beat the buzzer with a three-pointer from 75 feet away.

Arlington was able to overcome the Wildcats momentum scoring the first six points of the fourth quarter for the lead. With the Red Devils leading by a point at 55-54, Arlington went on a 10-3 run to take a 65-57 lead with 3:42 left, The closest Miller City came after that was five points. Arlington outscored the Wildcats 37-29 in a high scoring fourth quarter.

Jaret Vermillion scored 11 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Red Devils (5-2) with 22 points. Ivan Berry scored nine points in the fourth quarter to finish with a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds. Caleb Price had 12 points in the final quarter as he finished with 19 points. Ryan Metzger pulled down 12 rebounds for Arlington, along with four assists and three steals.

Noah Otto led the Wildcats (4-3) with 23 points, 20 in the second half, nine rebounds and three assists. Mark Kuhlman, with 12 points in the fourth quarter, had a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds along with six assists and two steals. Gable finished with 16 points for Miller City. Luke Lammers and Tyler Schroeder both had two steals in the game.

Temple Christian 63

LIMA — Fort Jennings used a slight fourth quarter scoring advantage Friday night to defeat Lima Temple Christian 67-63 in non-league action.

The Musketeers took a 48-46 lead to the final quarter before outscoring the Pioneers 19-17 for the win. fort Jennings had a 16-14 lead after one quarter and were up 30-27 at halftime.

Brandon Wenri led the Musketeers with 22 points, while Cole Horstman had 15 points and Ian Finn finished with 11.

Brody Bowman led the Pioneers with a game high 28 points and Noah Howell finished with 25 points.

KALIDA — Kalida picked up a good win Friday evening as they defeated Lincolnview 52-49 in non-league action.
