DELPHOS — Miller City's volleyball team got off to a good start Wednesday evening and rode that to a 25-16, 25-20, 25-23 non-league win over Delphos Jefferson.

Adrienne Kuhlman handed out 24 assists for Miller City (3-2) and had seven digs, while Sofie van Wezel and Abi Teders both had nine kills. Maddie Otto had five kills and Abi Lammers had six kills and 12 digs.

Cayla Troyer came up with 17 digs for the Wildcats.

LEIPSIC — Liberty-Benton used strong play at the net Wednesday evening to sweep Leipsic 25-20, 25-15, 25-21 in an early season Blanchard Valley Conference showdown.

Lyndie Hazelton recorded her 1,000 career assist for the Vikings as she had 20 in the match on 79-of-80 setting. She finished the night with 1,013 career assists.

Jocie Hermiller had eight kills for Leipsic (1-1, 5-1) on 24-of-26 hitting and she was 15-of-16 serving with seven digs. Liz Scheckelhoff had six kills on 12-of-16 hitting and Aubree Schroeder was 12-of-12 serving with seven digs. Brooke Brown had 10 digs for the Vikings.

Liberty-Benton won the junior varsity contest 25-4, 27-25 and Leipsic won the freshman contest 25-20, 15-25, 25-21.
