SHAWNEE — Kalida’s Christian Nartker came close to finishing the Lima Junior Golf Association season with two wins in the final three tournaments of the summer.

Nartker and Keaton McKinley finished in a tie Monday sending them to a playoff at the season ending Elks Invitational Tournament of Champions at the Shawnee Country Club.

Mckinley and Nartker finished their rounds Monday tied with 76s before Mckinley went on to win the playoff.

Mckinley shot a 40 on the front nine before closing with an even par round of 36. Nartker shot a 38 on the front nine and had a 38 on the back nine. He had won the tournament at the Shelby Oaks Golf Course last week.

Austin Radcliff finished tied for fifth on Monday with an 83 (42-41).

Kyle Naumann was named the Male Player of the Year this summer by the LJGA.

In the boys 14-15 age group, Ethan Ricketts won with a 79 and Carson Harmon was second with an 80.

In the boys 12-13 age group Parker Judy was the winner with a 40 and Chase Beery was second with a 43.

In the girls 16-18 age group, Mary Kelly Mulcahy was the winner in a playoff over Jill Schmitmeyer. Both golfers finished their rounds with a 75 (38-37) before Mulcahy won the playoff. Despite finishing second on Monday, Schmitmeyer was still named the top Female Golfer for the summer.

Grace Miller, Kalida, finished seventh with a 92 (48-44).

In the girls 15 and under age group Kayla Watkins was the winner with a 50. There was a four way tie for second place between Haylee Wurm, Kayla Nartker, Bridget Mulcahy and Emma Mayers as they finished with 52s. Wurm won the playoff for second place.

Drew Zwiebel won the Oscar Schuefler Sportsman Award for the season.
