LIMA — Ottawa-Glandorf's doubles team of Addy Schmiedebusch and Emma Schmiedebusch won a pair of matches Friday to reach the semi-finals of the Division II sectional tennis tournament at UNOH.

With their semi-final appearance, the Schmiedebusch's have qualified for next weeks Division II district tournament at Bowling Green State University. The top four doubles teams and singles players at each sectional advance to the district tournament.

Schmiedebusch and Schmiedebusch advanced to the semi-finals tomorrow (Saturday) at UNOH with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Van Wert's Paige Moonshower and Allie Etter. Monshower and Etter were the third seeded in the doubles, draw, while the O-G pair were unseeded.

Schmiedebusch and Schmiedebusch reached the quarterfinals of the tournament with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Fayme Gandhi and Elena Oliver of Bath.

Schmiedebusch and Schmiedebusch will face the second seeded team of Katie Clark and Alotus Wei of Shawnee in the semi-finals Saturday morning at 9 a.m. The championship and third place matches will be played after the semi-final round is completed.

The O-G doubles team of Megan Ketner and Lauryn Bockrath just missed reaching the semi-finals as they fell to Ethser and Ruby Bolon of Bath in the quarterfinals 6-0, 6-1. The Bolon's are the top seeded doubles team in the tournament.

In singles action, the Titans' Alyse Balbaugh reached the quarterfinals before falling to Lima Central Catholic's Olivia Kesner 6-1, 6-0.

Sami Ellerbrock won her first match of the day defeating Kara Retcher of Ayersville 6-0, 6-3 before falling to top seeded Aria Patel of Shawnee 6-0, 6-0. Claire Ellerbrock dropped her first match of the sectional to Alexa Bickford of Defiance 6-1, 6-1.
