LIMA — Ottawa-Glandorf's two doubles teams have punched their ticket to the Division II district tournament next week.

The doubles teams of Drew Kuhlman and Parker Schomaeker and Carter and Colin Welch claimed spots in the district tournament next Thursday at Bowling Green State University by advancing to the semi-finals of the D-2 sectional tournament Thursday.

Singles players Kamron Maag and Nolan Unterbrink are still alive in the sectional tournament and one win away from joining their teammates at the districts. Singles play was stopped Thursday afternoon in the quarterfinal round and will pick up again Saturday at 9 a.m. at the UNOH Courts. Play was stopped after rain forced the tournament inside and their was not enough court time available to continue the tournament.

Kuhlman and Schomaeker, the top seeded doubles team in the Lima Sectional, advanced to the semi-final round with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Reece Evans and Hunter Wells of Ada. The Titan duo did not lose a point Thursday in their two matches. They will face Van Wert's Kaden Thomas and Nathan Ruger in the semi-finals Saturday looking to advance to the championship match.

Carter and Colin Welch, the third seeds, advanced to the semi-finals with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Justin Gannan and Mat Kawalec of St. Marys. They will face the second seeded team from Elida in Jacob Ramirez and Riley Creps Saturday as they look for a spot in the championship match.

Unterbrink reached the quarterfinals as he defeated St. Marys' Mason King in the Rounf of 16 7-6 (5) and 6-2. Unterbrink will face fourth seeded Isaac Spar of Ada in the quarterfinals Saturday morning.

Maag advanced to the quarterfinals with a 4-6. 6-3. 6-1 win over Dylan Buettner of Elida. Maag will face third seeded Kannen Wannemacher of Van Wert in the quarterfinals.

O-G's Sam Schmenk dropped his first match of the day falling to Elida's Tyler Christoff 6-0, 6-3.
