LIMA — Ottawa-Glandorf's boys tennis team will be sending five players to the Division II district tournament Thursday at Bowling Green State University.

Advancing to the district tournament from the Lima Division II sectional, will be Carter Welch, Colin Welch, Drew Kuhlman, Parker Schomaeker and Kamron Maag. The Titans had a sectional champion in doubles, a runner-up in doubles and in singles from the Lima Division II sectional Saturday at the UNOH Tennis Courts.

Carter and Colin Welch claimed the doubles championship as they defeated teammates and Kuhlman and Schomaeker in the finals. The Welch's won the title when they defeated their teammates 7-6 (7-3), 6-4.

The Welch's, the third seeded doubles team, advanced to the finals with a 6-1,6-2 win over Jacob Ramirez and Riley Creps of Elida. Kuhlman and Schomaeker, the top seeded doubles, advanced to the championship match with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Kaden Thomas and Nathan Ruger of Van Wert.

Maag, who was unseeded, qualified for the district tournament with a runner-up finish in singles as he fell to Ada's Isaac Spar, the fourth seed, 6-0, 6-2. Maag advanced to the semi-final round Saturday morning with a 6-4, 7-5 win over Van Wert's Kannen Wannemacher, the third seed. In the semi-finals, Maag defeated Ada's Miranda Wills 6-2, 4-6, 6-4.

O-G's Nolan Unterbrink played in the quarterfinals Saturday morning falling to Spar 6-2, 6-2.
