DEFIANCE — Ottawa-Glandorf's girls basketball team may not have had one of their better offensive showings Friday night.

While the Titans struggled at times to score, they were able to put two early scoring runs together. Those runs helped the Lady Titans build a lead on their way to a 42-25 win over Defiance in Western Buckeye League action.

With the win the Titans moved to 8-0 in the WBL and clinched at least a share of their fifth straight league title. The Titans are 19-1 overall on the season. O-G can gain an an outright title next Thursday when they battle Kenton in their final WBL game of the season.

Ottawa-Glandorf trailed 2-1 early before going on a 12-0 run to take a 13-2 lead. That run helped the Titans to a 16-6 lead after the opening quarter.

The Titans were leading18-9 in the second quarter before the Bulldogs scored a pair of baskets to pull within 18-13. O-G finished the half with a 7-0 run to take a 25-13 lead. The Titans continued that run into the third quarter as they scored the first six points of the second half for a 33-13 lead. Defiance broke the Titans run with a free throw and seconds later scored their first basket in nearly eight minutes.

O-G took a 36-19 lead into the fourth quarter and were able to maintain that margin when the final horn sounded.

Brianna Schimmoeller and Kelsey Erford both scored 11 points to lead the Titans. Jasmyn Rich pulled down seven rebounds for O-G as she got the start for what was supposed to be Senior Night for the Titans before weather postponed their game on Thursday.

Emalee McKenzie paced the Bulldogs with six points and Kendall Black pulled down five rebounds.

Ottawa-Glandorf won the junior varsity game 36-28.
