DEFIANCE — Ottawa-Glandorf got a stern test from Defiance as the last two unbeaten teams in the Western Buckeye League squared off Thursday evening.

After dropping the second set, the Titans regrouped and went on to win the next two sets to claim a 29-27, 21-25, 25-18, 25-13 win over the Bulldogs. O-G, the number one ranked team in Division III, improved to 7-0 in the WBL and 17-1 overall. The Titans can claim at-least a share of the 2019 WBL title Tuesday night when they host Kenton.

Nicole Gerten served up four aces in the Titans win and had five digs, while Taylor Alt had two aces, , 20 kills, a block and 13 digs. Brianna Schimmoeller served two aces, had 36 assists and five digs and Erica Annesser had an ace, 13 kills, a block and 18 digs.

Kalida 0

KALIDA — Leipsic stayed unbeaten in the Putnam County League Thursday with a 25-15, 25-16, 25-11 win over Kalida.

The Vikings moved to 5-0 in the PCL and 18-1 overall with the win. The Vikings close out league play Tuesday when they host Miller City, also undefeated in the league. Kalida is 2-2 in the PCL.

Liz Scheckelhoff had 13 kills on 18-of-19 hitting for Leipsic and Peyton Heitmeyer had six kills on 19-of-20 hitting. Kasey Brough served up three aces, had five kills on 12-of-13 hitting with four blocks and Lyndie Hazelton had 25 assists on 68-of-69 setting.

Grace Klausing had 11 kills for the Ladycats on 30-of-31 hitting along with 11 assists and 11 digs. Lydia Vorst was 18-of-21 hitting with seven kills and Brooke siefker had four kills on 11-of-14 hitting. Carlee Recker and Brooke Erhart both had 13 digs for Kalida.

Leipsic won the junior varsity match 25-16, 25-17.

MILLER CITY — Miller City picked up their 17th win of the season Thursday with a quick 25-7, 25-8, 25-10 non-league win over Holgate.

The Wildcats are now 17-2 on the season.

Adrienne Kuhlman had two aces and 33 assists for Miller City, while Abi Lammers had 12 kills and 20 digs. Kate Kuhlman had nine kills and Abi Teders had two aces and nine kills. Cayla Troyer finished with 23 digs for the Wildcats.

Miller City won the junior varsity match 25-14, 25-14.

DELPHOS — Columbus Grove dropped the first set Thursday evening before rallying for a 21-25, 25-23, 25-20, 25-22 Northwest Conference win over Delphos Jefferson.

Abigail Gladwell was 15-of-16 serving for the Bulldogs with three aces and 10 digs and Lauren Benroth had three aces on 18-of-19 serving with four kills on 10-of-12 hitting with 20 assists and nine digs.

Angel Schneider had 14 kills on 28-of-33 hitting and Sara Dipnarine had 12 kills on 22-of-25 hitting with 10 digs and two aces on 13-of-13 serving. Becca Choi was 11-of-12 serving along with six kills on 23-of-23 hitting and she had 32 assists and four digs. Alayna Ricker had eight kills on 24-of-28 hitting and Cassie Heilman had seven kills on 16-of-17 hitting.
