VAN BUREN — Just one week ago, Pandora-Gilboa and McComb needed overtime to decide their Blanchard Valley Conference game.

Friday evening the two teams were back on the basketball court as they squared off for a Division IV sectional title. And once again four quarters was not enough for the two teams. Actually they needed seven quarters of basketball this time around before the Panthers celebrated a 48-46, triple overtime, win over the third seeded Rockets.

The win sends the Panthers to the Findlay Division IV district semi-finals Tuesday against second seeded Columbus Grove at 8 p.m.

McComb had a 21-13 halftime lead before the Rockets, seemingly, gained control the game with a 17-2 run in the third quarter for a 30-23 lead. The Panthers didn't go away quietly in the final quarter outscoring P-G 11-4 to tie the game at 34-34. Both teams had a chance to end the game in regulation, but neither could get a shot to fall in the minute and the Rockets missed two free throws with 28 seconds left that would have given them the lead. P-G was 2-of-8 at the line in the final quarter.

In the first overtime, a Tanner Schroeder free throw tied the game at 40-40 with 12 seconds left forcing a second overtime. After both teams scored just two points in the second overtime, they were able to decide things in the third overtime.

The Rockets had a 46-45 lead after a RIley Larcom basket. After a Panther turnover, the Rockets were trying to burn time off the clock before they turned the ball over. With 1:14 left in the third overtime, sophomore Jared Dillon scored to give the Panthers the lead. On their next possession, P-G turned the ball over again and McComb was able to burn time off the clock before being fouled with 13.7 seconds left.

Senior Tyler Durfey stepped up and hit one shot to give his team a two point lead. Rocket senior Jared Breece had a good look at the basket, but his shot rimmed out and the Panthers grabbed the rebound and the win.

Schroeder finished with 14 points for the Panthers, while Aaron Davis added 10 points.

Breece led the Rockets with 17 points and Larcom finished with 15.
