COLUMBUS GROVE — Columbus Grove junior quarterback Blake Reynolds had another big night as the Bulldogs wrapped up the regular season with a 49-0 Northwest Conference win over Bluffton.

Reynolds was 13-of-19 passing for the Bulldogs in the win for 285 yards and six touchdowns.

Gabe Clement and Reynolds got the Bulldogs on the scoreboard at 10:10 mark of the opening quarter with a 78 yard scoring pass. The only non throwing touchdown came at the 4:28 mark of the first quarter when Colin Metzger scored on a seven yard run to make the score 14-0 with Rece Verhoff's extra point.

Alex Schneider caught a pair of scoring pass for the Bulldogs in the second quarter, one that covered 28 yards and the other 55 yards as Columbus Grove would hold a 28-0 halftime lead.

In the third quarter, Reynolds hooked up with Scshneider for a 30 yard touchdown pass, then later found Clement with a 13 yard scoring strike. Schneider caught a five yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter.

Schneider caught eight passes in the game for 144 yards and Clement four passes for 123. Reynolds also rushed for 67 yards in the game.

While the Bulldog offense was rolling, their defense played well pitching the teams second straight shutout. Bluffton finished with 224 yards of offense, 196 on the ground, as they came up with three fumble recoveries in the game.

Tyson Shutler rushed for 114 yards for the Pirates in the game and Tucker Neff had 85 yards.

The Bulldogs finish the season 7-3 overall with their sixth straight win. They were 6-1 in the NWC as they garner a share of their second straight title, sharing this one with Allen East and Spencerville. Despite finishing 7-3 the Bulldogs will miss the playoffs in Division VI, Region 23.
