OTTAWA — Sandusky grabbed an early lead Sunday afternoon, then used a big inning to defeat Ottawa 9-4 in the semi-finals of the Tawa Run Classic at Memorial FIeld.

Overall, Post 63 went 4-2 over the course of the three day tournament as they improved to 9-4 on the season.

Sandusky took the lead with a run in the first inning, then added single runs in the second and fourth innings. Sandusky broke the game open with four runs in the fifth inning.

Ottawa came back with three runs in the sixth inning and a run in the seventh inning. Sandusky countered with two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Jacob Balbaugh took the loss for Post 63 as he went 4 1/3 innings. Logan Miller and Kurt Griffith worked in relief.

Brady Hauenstein had a hit and drove in two runs for Post 63 and Bryce Binkley had a single, double and an RBI. Brayden O'Dell had a pair of singles for Post 63.

To start Sunday, Ottawa jumped out to a quick lead in handing Coshocton a 12-1 six inning loss in an elimination game at Memorial Field.

After a scoreless first inning, Ottawa scored twice in the second inning and once in the third inning. Post 63 took a 5-0 lead before Coshocton scored a run in the top of the sixth.Post 63 responded by scoring seven times in the bottom of the sixth to end the game.

Binkley picked up the win for Ottawa as he allowed a run on three hits with five strikeouts.

Ethan Alt and Hauenstein both had two singles, a double and three RBIs. Dylan Schroeder had two singles, a double and two RBIs. Binkley and O'Dell both had a hit and RBI.
