OTTAWA — If your a fan of offensive football Titan Stadium was not the place to be Friday night.

Both Ottawa-Glandorf and Wapakoneta scored third quarter touchdowns and that was it for the scoring. The difference in the contest was a missed extra points as the Redskins prevailed 7-6 in Western Buckeye League action.

The win moves the Redskins to 8-1 in the WBL, 9-1 overall, and gives them a share of the WBL title along with Kenton. O-G finishes 7-2 in the league, good for second place, and 7-3 overall.

After a scoreless first half, the Redskins took the lead on the first play of the third quarter when Evan Kaeck burst over the left side of his offensive line and went 72 yards for a touchdown. With the extra point, Wapakoneta had a 7-0 lead.

Ottawa-Glandorf answered right back as they went 68 yards in 11 plays as Jarrod Beach scored on a one yard plunge. The extra point was wide left leaving the Redskins with a one point lead.

The rest of the night belonged to the defenses as both teams could move the ball before eventually having to punt. After the Titans last punt of the night, the Redskins used eight Kaeck runs to run out the clock. This included the senior running back picking up a crucial three yards on a fourth and one play with 2:42 left in the game.

Kaeck finished the night with 182 yards on 22 carries as the Redskins rushed for 225 yards in the game.

Jacob Balbaugh was 13-of-17 passing in the game for 93 yards as Beach caught five passes for 43 yards and Eric Heebsh three for 28 yards. Heebsh also rushed for 54 yards in the game.

Both teams had a chance to score in the first half as Wapakoneta missed a 35 yard field goal and O-G drove into the red zone late in the second quarter only to fumble the ball, which was recovered by the Redskins.

With two straight losses to end the season, the Titans now wait to see if they will make the playoffs in Division IV, Region 14. The Titans were the fourth seeded team entering play Friday night.
