MOUNT BLANCHARD — Leipsic stayed in contention for the Blanchard Valley Conference baseball crown Wednesday afternoon with a 5-3 win over Riverdale.

The Vikings moved to 6-1 in the BVC and 12-5 overall. Pandora-Gilboa and Liberty-Benton are still in contention with just one conference loss as well. The Falcons suffered their second BVC loss with the setback.

Leipsic scored single runs in the first and second innings before scoring three times in the third. Riverdale scored a run in the fourth inning and two in the bottom of the seventh.

Tyler Sickmiller picked up the win for Leipsic as he went the distance allowing three runs, one earned, on seven hits with six strikeouts.

Jasen Siefker had two hits for the Vikings and Mason Brandt had a hit with two RBI. Jeremy Tajavarez and Adam Lammers both had a single and RBI.

Pandora-Gilboa 8

Van Buren 0 

VAN BUREN — Pandora-Gilboa's Ryan Johnson was solid on the mound Wednesday afternoon in helping the Rockets defeat Van Buren 8-0 in Blanchard Valley Conference action.

Joshnson pitched a three hit shutout for P-G as he struck out 13 Black Knight batters and walked one. The Rockets moved to 4-1 in the BVC and 8-5 overall.

The Rockets took the lead with a run in the first inning before scoring three times in the third inning.

Eli Huffman had three doubles for the Rockets with an RBI and Zach Neuenschwander had a single and double with an RBI. Jacob Maag added a single and double to the P-G offense.

Elijah Mason took the loss for the Black Knights working three innings. Max Greenwalt had all three hits for Van Buren.

Columbus Grove 7

Bath 6

BATH TWP. — Columbus Grove scored a run in the seventh inning Wednesday to defeat Lima Bath 7-6.

The Wildcats took a 4-2 lead to the sixth inning before the Bulldogs scored four times for a 6-4 lead. After Bath tied the game at 6-6 in the bottom of the sixth, the Bulldogs scored the winning run in the top of the seventh.

Brenton Renner picked up the win for Columbus Grove as he worked six innings allowing six runs, two earned, on seven hits. Tayt Birnesser pitched a scoreless seventh inning for a save.

Taylor Schroeder had a single and two RBI for the Bulldogs, while Bo Birnesser and Lucas Otto both had a single and RBI.

RJ Cortez took the loss for the WIldcats. Austin Williams had two hits with two RBI and Lex Boedicker had two hits with an RBI.

Wayne Trace 6

Ottoville 4

OTTOVILLE — Wayne Trace scored twice in the seventh inning to defeat Ottoville 6-4 in non-league action Wednesday.

After the Big Green tied the game in the bottom of the sixth with two runs, the Raiders pulled out the win with two runs in the top of the seventh.

Cale Winans picked up the win for the Raiders working 1 1/3 innings. Tucker Antoine and Winans both had two hits in the game with an RBI.

Brice Schroeder took the loss for the Big Green working 2 2/3 innings. Jack Langhals had a double and single for Ottoville and Carter Schnipke had two hits. Ryan Suever had a triple in the game and Schroeder a double.

Delphos Jefferson 8

DELPHOS — Delphos Jefferson pitcher Josh Wiseman pitched a complete game shutout Wednesday as the Wildcats blanked Delphos Jefferson 8-0 in non-league action.

Wiseman gave up four hits in the game while striking out seven and walking three.

Jacob Simons had a pair of triples in the game for Jefferson and Tanner Vorhees had a double. Braylon Scalf had three hits with an RBI.

Evan Hoersten took the loss for the Musketeers working two innings. Aidan Grothouse had a triple for Fort Jennings.
