MILLER CITY — Miller City turned in a strong defensive effort Tuesday night as the Wildcats defeated Lima Temple Christian 57-28 in non-league action.

The Wildcats held the Pioneers to single digit scoring in three of the four quarter, while holding their leading scorer Brody Bowman to 14 points. Bowman was coming off a two game swing where he scored 92 points over the weekend.

Miller City took a double digit lead in the opening quarter as they outscored the Pioneers 16-5. After a 12-11 scoring advantage in the second quarter, the Wildcats outscored Temple Christian 29-12 in the second half.

Luke Lammers and Austin Ruhe, with three three-pointers, paced the Wildcats (8-7) with 15 points each. Jacob Koenig hit three three-pointers as he had nine points.

The Wildcats were 10-of-20 from three-point range in the game and 24-of-44 shooting overall.

Ruhe grabbed nine rebounds for Miller City, while Nick Gable had six rebounds, three steals and four assists. Lammers and Jon Burgei both had four assists for the Wildcats.

Miller City won the junior varsity game 39-18.
